Longtime Professional Baseball Instruction instructor Greg Cinnella, in his first year as head coach of the St. Joseph’s Regional High School freshman baseball team, has brought the Green Knights to the #1 seed of the Bergen County Coaches Association annual freshman tournament.
Sporting a crisp 11-0 record, the freshman Green Knights completed a sweep of their six games against perennial rivals Bergen Catholic, Don Bosco Prep, and Paramus Catholic.
The opening game for St. Joe’s is Saturday May 6.
The Green Knights last won the BCCA Freshman Tournament in 2010. They are attempting to win their eighth title since the tournament began in 1973.
